The Story of Mistical Touch!

In December of 1996 Renee Shaw (me) walked into Petersons Arena, and their Mistical Touch (Callie) was, she was elegant and full of life. She was 3 then and a charcoal grey with white accents that made her float! I still remember seeing her and looking at my mom and whispering can we afford her! On December 23, 1996 she was mine! What a christmas present. The year to follow was full of new challenges. Callie attended her first arab show. We were so excited. I took home 3 in the halter, my first ribbon! Callie did well under saddle, Alan Wedge showed her to a 4 place in the Championship class. The years to follow Callie became a beautiful parade horse. She was also Canadian Sport Horse Approved, scoring a 91pts. Callie also took home the Alberta Division Reserve Halter Championship. In the open shows Renee and Callie were unbeatable in the halter and showmanship. At a clinic with Todd Ehret it was decided that Callie was show hack. Upon her return to the Calgary Arabian show in 1999, Callie brought home the Show Hack Res. Championship (open) and Champion (AOTR). It was decided she was a show hack horse! The year (2000) to follow took us to Nationals where injury kept the beautiful grey out of the ring. In 2001 Young & Crawford Vet Clinic found a bone chip in the back right hind, it was removed and Callie went on injury leave. In 2004 Callie returned to the show world and went into trainning, In April 2004 Callie became very ill and after a strong will to live and numerous surgeries this beautiful mare lost her battle.  On May 31, 2004 I laid my best friend to rest.

I would like to send many thank yous to Young & Crawford for their dedication to Callie's recovery, Dr Finch was a professional and a god send!

Thank you also to the AB Vet clinic and their staff for the care of Callie in her last days, I know she was surounded by love.  Thank you to all that loved and supported this amazing animal. Many more Thank Yous go to Debbie Storey & Dianne Pretty! With out your guidance, understanding and friendship I would never had made it though.

You will live with me forever Callie!  Cheers to my best friend.
